Strategic computer games are those in chich the players' must have decision-making skills. The main factor that separates strategy games from other games is that there is very little chance or coincidence involved. All players have an equal knowledge about the elements of the game. Who uses and manipulates those elements better is the factor in winning.
In abstract strategy games, the game is not really tied to real-world themes. The focus more on the internal logic and theme of the game. Strategic wargames are simulations of military battles or fantasy wars. In these games the player must decide when, where, and how to move their armies or forces to conquer the enemy.
Other more commonly known strategic games are chess, backgammon, mastermind and checkers.
