myLot Discussions| Are you into playing PC video games? | | One time I felt the urge to buy Cd games to play on my PC. Though I am not an addict yet on computer gaming, I could say I must be going to that, but then now I realize that it is not bringing me any good. I won't quit a game without winning and sometimes I can last the whole night awake because I did not win and I am compelled to replay it over and over, til I feel fainting ande my eyes getting sensitive to light. Times like this, I am thinking of the hours wasted.I am being reminded of the effectiveness of moderation. How about you? I know I have to quit this and I can dislike it the moment I feel this fainting. If there is one unproductive activity that I can point to as a caprice or vice, it is being online and doing all these sorts of endless futile entertainment.
| | Do you play a lot of PC/video games? | | I would consider myself a pretty "light gamer". I usually just play games pretty occasionally; for now, I'm starting to dwell in the world of The Sims 2; the designing capabilities are actually pretty interesting.I have a PS2, but I'm notorious for being a really bad gamer (literally - I suck at video games).Do you play a lot of video games? Would you consider yourself a light or heavy gamer? | |

| | Can you learn anything from games? | | We have come across enough raging battles between adults and children. I want game! No, no game! Me want! No, go to bed! Give me game!*smack*:PPersonally, I view games as just another form of entertainment. If the kid is not playing PC/video games, he will still find another alternative. Why do we stop children from playing such games anyway? Is there really no good and all bad? Please check out http://hubpages.com/_lww/hub/rtk3 . I am so excited to share this hub with you. It is a compilation of 8 lessons I have learned from a classic strategy game called Romance of the Three Kingdoms III that I first started playing more than 10 years ago.Even if you haven't played this game before or do not play games at all, still, go take a look at my article. I think it will make an interesting read nevertheless since I made the lessons applicable to real life, and wrote them in a hopefully humorous manner. Support wizzy, alright? After you've checked it out, let me know again if we can learn anything from games. Do share your thoughts.;-)PS.: For those who may be "interested" to know, I have been ripped again. I am not keen to post another ranting article to disrupt the... | |
| | Are You More of A Console Gamer or PC Gamer? | | I must say I've played console games and hardly ever tried to play pc video games. I've heard with a fast enough computer pc games can be better to play as well as play online. I don't have a powerful computer to enjoying all the benefits of pc games because they just cost too much. I'm happy with being a console gamer. I'll probably dive into pc games in the future. Its mainly the online part where it mainly stinks when being a pc gamer without a powerful enough computer from what I've heard. | |

| | 23 Ways To Speed WinXP, Not only Defrag (Must See) | | Since defragging the disk won't do much to improve Windows XP performance, here are 23 suggestions that will. Each can enhance the performance and reliability of your customers' PCs. Best of all, most of them will cost you nothing.
1.) To decrease a system's boot time and increase system performance, use the money you save by not buying defragmentation software -- the built-in Windows defragmenter works just fine -- and instead equip the computer with an Ultra-133 or Serial ATA hard drive with 8-MB cache buffer.2.) If a PC has less than 512 MB of RAM, add more memory. This is a relatively inexpensive and easy upgrade that can dramatically improve system performance.3.) Ensure that Windows XP is utilizing the NTFS file system. If you're not sure, here's how to check: First, double-click the My Computer icon, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties. Next, examine the File System type; if it says FAT32, then back-up any important data. Next, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the prompt, type CONVERT C:/FS:NTFS and press the Enter key. This process may take a while; it's important that the computer be uninterrupted and virus-free. The file...
